Kallianpur: Hearty Farewell to Augustine Dais & Sarojini of Milagres College

Kallianpur, 01 Feb 2013: Hearty farewell ceremony was held at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall here on Thursday, 31st January, 2013 to honour Prof. Augustine Dias retiring Physical Director and Sarojini Anand retiring Typist cum clerk of Milagres College. The farewell ceremony which was organised by Management,Staff & students of Milagres College, Kallianpur.

 

Augustine A. Dias  served Milagres College since three decades as Popular Physical Director who created a lasting impression in the lives of his colleagues and students. Retirement of Augustine Dias definitely Milagres College are at a loss with the departure who held the Milagres flag high with great achievments of students in athletics, games and sports in not only district or state or national level but in International level also due to his dedicated contribution, selfless service and love for the institution which motivated the students to give their best to sports and games.

 

The active contribution of Mr. Dias to the college ceases when he moves forward to begin another phase of his life, a relaxing phase in the company of his wife and children. Mr Dias as a quiet, warm, affectionate a peaceful person, a person of few words and calm disposition. His silent personality turns charming by his enigmatic and sincere smile which lights up his face. His silent personlity can see the virtues of simplicity, humility, respect, embedded in his being, naturally because of his roots. Another great trait of Mr. Dias is his systematic and perfect work and organisational ability. One visit to the Physical Education Department reveals the methodical recording of events and student achievements. This requires ceaseless efforts and great patience which find difficult to imbibe.

 

 

The void created by Mr. Dias’s superannuation will be greatly felt in the future because he was a link between the college admistration and former students. Prof Joseph Fernandes placed very much needed appreciation and felicitation note in favour of Augustine Dais and Prof Peter D’Souza HOD of Commerce Department placed the letter of honour.

 

Another non teaching staff Mrs. Sarojini Anand also going to retires from Milagres College who served seleflessly in the college office since three decades. Mrs. Sarojini also another great trait who is her systematic and perfect work in office. Of course every beginning has to have an end. The contribution of Sarojini Anand to College not measureable one. Her husband Mr Anand also served the college several decades.

 

Valerian Fernandes, Manager Milagres College office placed appreciation beautifully in favour of Mrs. Sarojini M and Prof Archana K. Dabade placed letter of honour. Floral felicitation ceremony was held by office bearers and all class representatives of SWC, Deans, Heads of all the departments, Heads of Aminstrative staff, PU Principal Rev Fr. Ivan Rodrigues, Degree Principal Dr. Nery Cornelio, Allen Vinay Lewis President of Alumni Association and  Edward Lewis President of PTA.
Later Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo honoured both retiring staff of College with shawl, garlands, fruits, memento Etc. and Augustine A. Dais and Sarojini gave briefly reply to felicitation. Rev Fr. Ivan Rodrigues and Dr. Nery Cornelio addressed on felicitation. V.Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo gave Presidential remarks and also blessed the occasion.

 

Earlier, Amritha D’Silva President of SWC welcomed the gatherings. Shewtha Secretary of SWC proposed vote of thanks. Sana compered the memmorable programme of hearty farewell occasion.
