Kundapur: Confraternity Sunday observed in Our Lady of Rosary Church

Kundapur, 26 Nov 2012: The church of Our Lady of Rosary with an history of 442 years, on the eve of the annual parish feast observed Confraternity Sunday on November 25, 2012. The procession with the Blessed Sacrament passed through the main roads of the Kundapur town. Earlier, the procession used to be taken through the narrow streets. However, since around forty years, the procession has gained greater importance and it has been organized through the main roads with decoration.

 

 

 

Rev. Fr. Joachim Fernandes, professor of the Jeppu Seminary lead the procession along with the Blessed Sacrament. Earlier, Rev. Fr. Joachim Fernandes celebrated the Holy Eucharist and later he carried the Blessed Sacrament on a decorated vehicle. Following the procession, the parishioners assembled in the school ground where Rev. Fr. Joachim preached sermon in the Kannada language and conferred blessing of the Blessed Sacrament.

 

The Dean of the Kundapur Varado and the parish priest of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza and the assistant parish priest and principal of the Junior College, Fr. Pravin Martis also participated in the procession and other ceremonies associated with the confraternity Sunday.
