Mount Carmel Central School Inaugurates The Year Of Faith

Mangalore, 11 Oct 2012: In the Acts of the Apostles We learn that god has opened the door of faith for the early church But did you know that God has opened the door of the faith for each one of us and he invites us to step through the threshold into a deeper relationship with him The upcoming year of faith is an opportunity for every catholic and to turn towards. Jesus Christ encounter him in the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and rediscover the Faith and Church.
The beginning of the Year of faith coincides with the anniversaries of two great events –the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the twentieth of the promulgation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
As Pope Benedict XVI inaugurates the Year of Faith on 11 October 2012 at Vatican, the staff students and parents of Mount Carmel Central school Maryhill, Mangalore inaugurated this great and significant event with the Eucharistic Celebration at 8.30 am at Maryhill Chapel.
For the Entrance Procession , a student representative Vernette Rodrigues Staff representative sivia fernandes along with the velebrant Rev Fr Ravi Santhosh Kamath S.J came in processioncarrying the documents of Vatican Council,Catechism of the catholic Church and the Holy bible and placed them before the Altar. Whicle the meaning and significance of this year was highlighted at the intoduction of the Mass.
