Mangalore: MLC election from Graduate and Teachers’ Constituencies in progress

Mangalore, 10 June 2012: The election process for the MLC election from Graduate and Teachers’ Constituencies started in right earnest in the Government College, Mangalore at 8 am on Sunday, June 10, 2012 and will continue till 4pm. When this reporter visited the Government College in the morning, he came across quite a number of women graduates and teachers casting their votes. District Collectorate and Election officials have ensured that all the preparations for the election process are complete and the election would continue smoothly.
The workers and leaders of major parties in Karnataka, BJP, Congress and JD(S) express confidence their respective candidates would win the election. The Candidates in the fray are: Capt Ganesh Karnik (BJP), SP Dinesh (Congress) and SL Boje Gowda (JDS) among others in the election to lgislative council in South-West Graduates Constituency. DH Shankara Murthy (BJP), Hosur Ramesh Joyappa (Congress) and CM Panchaksharaiah (JDS) are contesting from South-West Teachers Constituency.
