Mangalore: Dr. Aloysius P. D’Souza completes sixteen years as the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese

Mangalore, 15 May 2012: On the occasion of the completion of sixteen years as the Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese, Dr. Aloysius P. D’Souza offered thanksgiving Mass in the Rosario Cathedral on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 7.30 am. Nearly fifty priests from different parishes of Mangalore joined the Bishop in offering the thanksgiving Mass. The Papal Nuncio to the Ivory Coast, Dr. Ambrose Madtha also joined the Bishop. A number of sisters and people from neighbouring areas participated in the thanksgiving Mass.
Following the thanksgiving Mass, there was a short felicitation programme. Speaking at this occasion, Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director of Fr. Muller’s Hospital said that it is sixteen years since Dr. Aloysius P. D’Souza took charge as the Bishop of Mangalore. During these past sixteen years, he has done a lot of good work. He was instrumental in starting Engineering and Medical colleges. Besides these works, he has initiated the task of providing free homes to the poor and educational aid to the needy. Fr. Patrick wished the Bishop well in his future endeavours.
