I too agree with Mr Benedict, Mr Philip. The church Authorites and the BJP CM cross the election code of conduct , can’t the church aurthorites wait another 3-4 days ? to invite him and give appeal for financial help ? after all we catholics people supported from decades for all church buildings and church schools whenever our priests are requested ,now all of sudden they need Govt help !!!

I endorse the views expressed here by Benedict Noronha. Further, laity leaders of Catholic Church, please examine under what Legislature Act, the financial assistance is sought. If there are any provisions of law under which the parishioners can file application for state funds to construct/renovate/repair/relocate structures for worship, then those applications should be submitted to relevant office. They should not be handed over to ministers and people s representatives in legislature bodies. This public display is in violation of model code of conduct. It also gives an impression that Catholics are a vote bank, something proved recently in Goa state elections. Our clergy must put political expediency beyond our faith and its affairs, or take abuse lying down.

For me it looks like political gimmick and empty promises. I doubt very much if this promise will be kept. Promises by Politicians!!!!! I wonder!!!!

Inviting trouble! if the election code of conduct is alive and kicking, then the BJP candidate must be dis qualified because the C.M. in the guise of visiting the Church exploited the code of conduct. The Church leaders also should not have entertained the visit and presented the appeal for aid during this time. After the elections the appeal should have been presented and the C.M. could have assured his promise. Unfortunately the incident has taken place which is unholy and under the election code of conduct is is illegal.as far as BJP is concerned now all the codes and ethics are more broken than kept up.
