Lightning Strikes at Kattingeri, Kills Cow

Moodubelle, 25 April 2010:In a tragic incident, lightening struck the stable of Srinivas Nayak at Kadambila in Kattingeri and killed one of his four cows in the stable during the early morning of Sunday, 25th April 2010. There were other three cows and four calves in the stable which were unaffected by the lightening. Due to the impact of the lightening, the stored hey inside the stable got fire. However, the presence of mind of Srinivas who took immediate step to extinguish the fire caused by the lightening saved considerable amount of the hey.
There was incessant rain coupled with heavy flash of lightening and deafening sound of thunder. Fortunately there was no heavy wind. During the previous night due to thunderstorm a large number of trees have been uprooted. According to a report from Kaup to Kota as many as 100 electric poles have fallen. The Mescom workers had been working throughout the day and the electric power could be restored with great difficulty during the Saturday night.

Very sad see the mother cow died with lightning poor calf looking at the mother it doesnt know mother is no more in this world, what to do sometimes nature become cruel to us, owner lost source of milk and the calf lost its mother, We Pray in our daily prayers ask mother Mary to keep us safe from the natural calamities, our only trust is in GOD. | |
