Udupi,05 March 2012: Udupi-Chikmagaluru bypoll to the LS constituency is being held on March 18, a total of 14 candidates are contesting the election. In this election number of independent candidates is more than major political party candidates. This bypoll has thrown a big question to the three leading political parties such as Congress, BJP and JD(S). The people of the district as well as the people of the state are looking forward for the clear cut winner.
The three major political parties are worried about the survival. In the meantime an aggressive campaigning is going on by these three parties. The non-participation of any National leaders in this election has BJP worried. However, the BJP have resolved to snatch in as many votes as possible from Congress and JD(S) by visiting as many houses as possible. However, the congress has adapted all-together a different strategy by forming a group of dedicated workers who are working tirelessly and is trying to attract the electorate to vote for Congress.
The disgruntled leaders as well as workers are trying to change parties and involved in anti-party activities.
Since the three minsters of the ruling party have lost their minister ship due to porn-gate episode also on the other hand some of the ministers have been jailed due to several corruption cases or other scandals. There is also a feeling among the people of the constituency that the current chief minister of the state has not done enough for the constituency. Hence, due to all these developments in the politics the people are expecting a change.

Naturally the people are fed up with all dramas going in Mangalore-Udupi area starting with rave parties, Yeddis greediness for the chair, Porn-gate and finally Lawyers thrashing of innocent media persons and many more has not only angered the people but tired of all non-sense going on in the state. In this scenario is there any scope for any developments in the state and this big question will play a vital role in the bypoll elections. I think this is a golden chance for Congress to utilize this opportunity and act on developments and grab good votes. |
