Cheshire Homes were started by Lord Cheshire in England, and the cornerstone for the Cheshire Home at Kankanady, behind Fr. Muller’s Hospital was laid in 1965. Cheshire Homes have been serving people with several disabilities, making them realize the skills they are unaware of and is striving to make them self-sufficient by teaching them card, soap and candle-making, stitching and even basic computer knowledge.
Various organizations and individual social workers such as Jossy Albert Rego occasionally visit the Cheshire Home and attempt to spread happiness and joy among the inmates by spending some time with them.
