Kuvempu Sammellana in Abu Dhabi concluded in style

Abu Dhabi, 29 Jan 2012: Soon after the inaugural speaches and welcoming ceremonies, all the prominent personalities, poets and authors were felicitated with  "Kuvempu Antharashtriya ManavaPrashasti" awards that included Dr. B.R. Shetty & Dr. Mrs. B.R. Shetty (Patron UAE Kannadigas) followed by Zafarulla Khan Mandya (Businessman & Social Worker), Dr. MalaliVasanth Kumar (Poet), Sarvotham Shetty(President, KaranatakaSangha Abu Dhabi) , Elias Sanctis (Businessman Kuwait and Social Worker) , Shekar B. Shetty (MD Arab Udupi Group of Restaurants),  Mr. Sudheer Kumar Shetty (UAE Exchange – CEO Global) and many other personalities were also honoured with "KuvempuAntharashtriyaManavaPrashasti" awards.

 

All the other artists, singers, personalities and members of KaranatakaSangha who toiled day and night in putting up this grand show were felicitated with mementos including media personalities.

 

A variety of entertainment and cultural programs followed thereafter including janapadanrutya titled ’Jaathre’ ,  semi classical dance "jayabharatajananiyathanujathejaya hay karnatakamaate" by Sri Vidyaand KuvempuRaitha Nada Geethe by .Kikkeri Krishnamoorthy and troupe from Bangalore.A fantastic  ’Kamsale’ dance by Rani Abbakka Group of Dubai was beautifully presented.  The "HacchevuKannadadhaDeepa"  solodance by MissSrilakshmi of J.M. Palya Bangalore captured the audience and appreciated by thunderous applause. A dubai based businessman Mr. Harish Sherigar rendered two melodious kannada filmy songs followed by Humour speech by Doordarshan artist from Bangalore was appreciated and applauded.

A delicious lunch was provided by Foodlands Restaurants, followed by Yakshagana"Shamanthaka" was presented by Yakshmitraru Dubai. 

 

Sri SriSri. KumarachandrashekaranathaSwamiji spoke on the occasion and appreciatedKannadigas in U.A.E  who have preserved the language despite being in a foreign country and saluted the organizers for arranging this type of events and preserving the Kannada language.

 

During the Literature Summit all the prominent poets spoke and highlighted the achievements of Kannada language esp. SammellanadyaksheLathaRajshekar said there are only three languages having having oldest scripts and that is Sanskrit, Greek and Kannada and Kannada is called Queen of Scripts and also only Kannada stands unique having produced more than 50 epic poems in Kannada.  No language so far has produced more than three epic poems.  She also applauded the efforts of Dr. B.R. Shetty and Mr. Sarvotham Shetty in preserving language in U.A.E and and making all out efforts in inviting prominent kannada personalities and artists from Karnataka and spreading and preserving Kannada among U.A.E residents.  She also appreciated people in U.A.E who spoke fluent kannada and she applauded Ms. Mangalla Shetty who highlighted Kuvempus works in such a high language and having deep knowledge on the mahakaviKuvempu.  Shri D. JavreGowda also spoke on the occasion and thanked Karnataka Sangha and esp. Dr. B.R. Shetty and Mr. Sarvotham Shetty for their dedication to kannada language and upliftment of language and services towards kannada community. He too highly spoke on Kannada language and its achivements in the field of literature and poems which are internationally renowned.

 

HumerousHingavanaVachanna was presented by a few kannadigas from U.A.E namely Arther Pereira, Mangala Shetty, IrshadMudbidri, Aveenash Bhatt, ArshadHussain and humaristNagrajKote from Bangalore prior to closing of ceremony.
