Kuwait: Tulu Koota presents Spactacular ’Tulu Parba 2011’

Kuwait, 06 November 2011: Tulu Koota Kuwait presented their mega annual event "Tulu Parba 2011" in a glittering celebration on Friday 4th November at American International School, Maidan Hawally.
The event began at 5:00 pm as President of Tulu Koota Kuwait Mrs. Swarna C. Shetty led on stage all the Managing Committee members for a traditional lighting of the lamp. Souvenir was released to mark the occasion. The Vice President Ramesh Kidiyoor extended a warm welcome to everyone, followed by welcome dance and songs by Gladys Lorenha, Prakash Shetty and Laveena.
In the official program that followed, Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Mr. Sathish C. Mehta was the Chief Guest and Fr. Noel D’Almeida was the guest of honor. President of Tulukoota Kuwait Swarna C. Shetty welcomed all the guests, sponsors, members & audience. All the sponsors, ex-Presidents and outstanding committee members were felicitated on this occasion. Ambassador in his address praised the efforts of Tulukoota for their outstanding contribution to the society. Fr. Noel appreciated Tulukoota in uniting the people of coastal Karnataka under one language and in keeping alive the traditions of Tulunadu in this part of the world.
Merit scholarship awards & Certificate of Appreciation were presented to outstanding students for academic excellence for the year 2010-11. The students who received awards are Melisha D’Souza, Manisha Rai, Floyd Sequiera, Simona D’Souza, Aishwarya Gatty, Joynel Pinto, Clive Misquith & Deandra D’Souza.
"Tulunadu Ratna" Dinesh Attavar performed a scintillating classical dance. The highlight of the event was presentation of Tulu comedy drama "Ajjigerla Ijji", which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The drama was written by Mr. Harish Padubidri and directed by Ronald D’Souza Mulki. All the local artists and visiting artists Dinesh Attavar & Roopashri were honored on this occasion. General Secretary Harish Bhandary proposed the vote of thanks. A truly Tulunadu cultural extravaganza was concluded at 11:00 pm with the singing of national anthem.
The compeers for the program were Sachidananda Suvarna & Sushma Bangera. Stage setting was done by Ronald D’Souza. Sound & Lighting was provided by Anand D’Souza (Illuminations). Arvind & Sachin Bhandary did the slide show presentation.
