Dubai: Grand Celebration of First anniversery by Little Flowers Mukamar

Dubai, 02 October 2011:  The grand celebration of the first anniversary of Little Flower Mukamar was held at the Al Zamouradah Party Hall at Karama amidst invited guests, well-wishers and family members & friends of Mukamar Parishioners of Mangalore.

 

It was also a day the “Kutma Sangati award’ was presentation to Ms. Juliana Sequeira for her long service (25 years) with the Mangalorean Catholic family of Rony and Aboline D’Cunha.

 

A well-known couple in U.A.E. and esp. in Dubai Dony and Asha Correa took to the stage to compeer the entire show. They not only compered but also sang, cracked good rib-tickling jokes and conducted various spot games and kept the audience enthralled throughout the programme.  The president Godwin Corda welcomed the audience and wished them a happy and joyful First Anniversary of Little Flowers Mukamar and adviser Lancy D’souza read out the annual report highlighting the various achievements fulfilled by LFM throughout the year.

 

The event began with the theme song of Little Flower Mukamar and was followed by the first anniversary cake-cutting ceremony by committee members.

 

Dayan D’Souza advisor to Little Flower Mukamar narrated briefly the life and struggle of the Kutma Sangati Awardees.  The main winner Ms. Juliana Sequira was presented with award by well known Mangalorean Comedy King Francis Fernandes Cascia along cash cheque of Rs. 10,000/- for her selfless service to the family of Rony & Aboline D’Cunha of Duabi.  The other two awardees were Ms. Benny Pinto and Ms. Alice Lobo were also felicitated and presented with award by a well-known businessman  Joseph Mathias and Rony Sabi.

 

Juliana appreciated and thanked Little Flowers Mukamar for recognizing her service and also thanked her family members.  Benny Pinto and Alice Lobo also thanked the organizers for the special Kutma Sangati Award bestowed upon them.  The family members whom Juliana, Benny and Alice worked also thanked the Little Flowers Mukamar for their initiative in presented this awards and recognizing the service of Juliana, Benny and Alice.  They were also presented with gifts by Joseph Mathias, Walter Nandalike, Saby and Herman Lewis of FM 105.4.

 

Walter Nandalike also addressed the audience and appreciated Mukamar association for this type of service to the community. He said that Little Flower Mukamar has become very popularity within the short period of their existence and has come out with ideas such as recognizing domestic service people.

 

 

The event also had variety of cultural and fun loving games.  The little kids Derica, Betina, Anora and Samantha presented wonderful dance numbers for Bollywood songs.  A Konkani song was sung by little Sania Fernandes which was applauded by the audience and she was presented with a gift.  The members Reshma, Reena, Marina and Vanita presented a beautiful folk dance.  Various fun loving group games were conducted by mc Dony and Asha throughout the day.

 

A Newly married couple from Mukamar parish was felicitated along with Richard Mohan & family who attended the programme from Bahrain.

 

All the sponsors, well-wishers and media persons were felicitated with flower bouquets. A letter from Parish Priest of Mukamar Fr. Victor was read out by Shalini Crasta in which Fr. Victor thanked Mukamar Parishioners residing in U.A.E. and wished them all the best for their 1st Anniversary.

 

Alfred a famous businessman donated Dhs. 4200/- towards charity cause for Little Flowers Mukamar. A delicious buffet was arranged for all those present by Canara Restaurant Karama.

 

The grand celebration concluded with a non-stop baila dance wherein all young and old joined and danced till the end to the music provided by DJ Dony and Dinesh Correa supported by Kethan.  The dance completion was held for the best dancers and the winners were presented with gifts.

Well done Little Flowers from Mukamar. No fear when Dayan is there. Througly enjoyed the programme, food and meeting people. May your association grow to further hights in coming years .
