Catholic Sabha and Laity Commission of Moodubelle honor Meritorious Students and Lay Achievers

Udupi/M’Belle, 29 June 20225: The Catholic Sabha in association with the Lay Commission Units of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle felicitated studets who have scored highest marks in SSLC and PUC examinations as well as ten lay achievers in different fields at a function held in St. Lawrence Parish Hall, Moodubelle on Sunday, 29 June 2025 at 09.00am.
The programme commenced with prayer. Fr. George D’Souza-Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle presided over the programme. Other dignitaries on the dis included: Fr. Rickson Monteiro-Assistant parish Priest, Pritish D’Sa-Vice President of the PPC, Charles Quadros-Secretary of PPC, Mrs.Gracy Rebello-Convener of 20 Commissions, John D’Souza-President of the Catholic Sabha and Henry Fernandes-Coordinator of the Laity Commission.
Following the welcome address by Henry Fernandes and introductory remarks from Charles Quadros, the student achievers were felicitated:
1. SSLC: Vinola Moras(616 Marks and Tenth Rank in Karnataka State);Raizel Furtado (609 Marks); Jane Reebello(596 Marrks); Elston Mendonca (553 Marks); Viona D’Souza (549 Marks0 and Niyola Barboza (438 Marks)
2. PUC: Angel Grace (586 Marks); Rowin Noronha (574 Marks); Henson Sequeira (517 Marks) Sharal Mendonca (529 Marks).
The names of the students were read by Mrs. Justin Mendonca.
The Lay persons honoured on this occasion were: Vincent Fernandes, Lawrence Alva, Ivan Menezes,Joseph Martis, Stany D’Souza, Mrs. Reena D’Souza, Mrs. Mary D’Souza, Mrs. Sarita Mendonca, Mrs. Irene Menezes, Wilfred D’Mello and Edwin Quadros.
The lay achievers were introduced by Nevill ‘Souza.
On behalf of the honoured lay persons, Ivan Menezes and Mrs. Sarita Mendonca conveyed their thanks to Catholic Sabha and Lay Commission for the honour.
Pritish D’Sa and Fr. George D’Souza gave their messages on this occasion. Fr. George D’Souza said that the achievers in different fields manifested their merit not because they wished to be felicitated but their achievements were recognized and they were honoured by the Catholic Sabha and Lay Commission.
Ronald D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Reshma D’Souza compered the programme.
