Srimad Bhagavata Pravachana Saptah by His Holiness Sri Sri Satyatmatirtha Sripada at Gokul

Mumbai, June 28: B.S.K. B. Association, Sion, Gokul, which is celebrating its centenary, organized a week-long program of Srimad Bhagavatam Pravachana Saptaha by Uttaradi Math Param Pujya Sri Sri Satyatmattirtha Sripada from Wednesday 18.6.2025 to Tuesday 24.6.2025 on the occasion of its centenary celebrations, in collaboration with Gopalakrishna Public Trust, B.S. K. B. Association.

 

Sripada, who arrived at Sri Krishna Sannidhi on Wednesday, was welcomed with a Poorna Kumbha and brought to the temple under the leadership of Gov. Secretary Ananthapadmanabha Pothi, Treasurer Sri Haridas Bhat, Gopalakrishna Public Trust trustees B. Ramananda Rao, Krishna Acharya, Jagadishchandra Kumar, Vedic deities Krishnaraj Tantri, Daregudde Srinivas Bhat, Ganesh Bhat, Ramavithal Kalluraya, etc. After the Venerable Shripada performed the aarti to Sri Gopalakrishna and took the seat in the temple auditorium, the sponsors of the Pravachana Saptah, Suma and Vedamurthy Krishnaraj Tantri, Sumati Harish and the late Bola Subbaiah Shetty, their son Chandrashekhar Shetty, draped a shawl over Sripada, offered a tulsi garland, and fruit items, and received the fruit mantra and were blessed. Similarly, Sri Sri blessed the office bearers of Gokul and the gathered devotees by giving the fruit mantra.

 

The inaugural program of the Bhagavata Pravachana Saptah held at the Saraswati Sabhagriha in Gokul began with the welcome of Treasurer Shri Haridas Bhat. Mahuli Vidwan Vidyasimha Acharya, Chancellor of Sri Satyadhyana Peetha, Mulund, introduced Sri Sri Satyatma Tirtha Sripada and said that Sri Sri was a mine of great wisdom who embodied knowledge, devotion and renunciation, followed Dharma for the love of God, and came to us today to share the essence of Bhagavata with us. Vice President Vaman Hollar, in his introductory remarks, told about the path taken by B. S. K. B. Association, Gokul, which is celebrating its centenary.

On the weekdays, the incarnations of the Lord for the establishment of religion, the severe penance of Vishnu, the stories of the supreme devotees like Dhruva, Prahlada, Ambarisha, etc. who realized the Lord through the path of devotion, the childhood pastimes of Shri Krishna, who incarnated for the establishment of religion, the colorful personality/pastimes of the Lord as the bearer of Govardhana Hill, the slayer of Kali, the destroyer of the demon clan, and the protector of the Pandavas throughout the Mahabharata, were described in a luscious manner, the importance of the path of devotion was explained with special explanations and illustrations, and the special conclusions of Ananda Tirtha Shrimadacharya on the Bhagavatam were explained in a most wonderful way to the devotees who had gathered in the crowded auditorium. Explaining with a fluent voice, he enchanted everyone with the mantra. In the auspiciousness of the week, he explained the fruit of listening to the Srimad Bhagavatam, the Shruti, and prayed that God would bless us with the inspiration to remember the name of the Lord and do good deeds in every birth and after birth, and that everyone would be blessed. Ve. Murthy Krishnaraja Tantri offered his heartfelt thanks to Sripadamgal, who had imparted spiritual knowledge for seven days, on behalf of Gokul.

 

As a special program of the day, Sri Sri’s fan and national award winner, Pandit Jayateertha Mevundi performed Bhajan Sandhya Harinama Sankirtan and performed the service. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the day of Ekadashi, he also blessed hundreds of people by performing mudra dharana.

 

After the sermon, the president, office bearers, and sponsors of the week covered Swamiji with shawls, paid homage with tulsi garlands, and received the mantra of fruit from Sripada and were blessed. Swamiji covered the shawls and blessed the president, Dr. Suresh S Rao, office bearers, and sponsors. Swamiji blessed the more than 400 devotees who gathered that day with the mantra of fruit. Gokul had organized breakfast every day of the sermon and the live broadcast of the program through YouTube.

 

As part of the Srimad Bhagavatam discourse, various Homa/Havanadi related to it were organized by Gopalakrishna Public Trust from 18.6.2025 to 24.6.2025 (except Ekadashi). Under the leadership of the Chief Priest Vedamurthy Daregudde Srinivas Bhat, Vasudeva Mantra Homa was sponsored by Shyamala and Avinash Shastri, Ashtakshara Mantra Homa was sponsored by Meera and Jagadish Acharya, Namatraya Japa Homa was sponsored by Radhalakshmi and Dr. Chandrashekhar couple and Sudarshan Bala couple sponsored the Purusha Sukta Homa Vinodini and Rajesh Rao couple sponsored the Sri Krishna Shadaksha Mantra Homa sponsored by Shyama and Vijaya Acharya couple and Jagadish Kamath couple sponsored the Sukrita Homa sponsored by Shantala and Srinivas Udupara. The Udyapanam Homa of the Bhagavata Saptaha Homa was performed on the last day under the leadership of Gov. Secretary Anantha Padmanabha Pothi, Sahana Pothi couple and the priest of V.M. Prakash Acharya. After the Poornahuti and Mangalarati every day, the priests covered the sponsors of the Saptaha Homa with shawls and blessed them with fruit mantras. As part of the Bhagavata Saptah, Vedamurthy Srinivas Bhat, who arrived from Udupi for seven days, performed Bhagavata Parayana in the presence of Lord Krishna.
