Workshop organized on translation of Konkani Literature to Kannada language

Mangalore: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy organised one day workshop on “Konkani-Kannada” translation  on Wednesday 26 February 2025 at Shaktinagar, Kalangana.

 

“Though quite a lot of literature from other languages has been translated into Konkani, so far few attempts have been made to translate Konkani literature into other languages.  Keeping this in view, the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy has started the first step in translating Konkani literature into Kannada language through this workshop”. Said Joachim Stany Alvares-President of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in his introductory speech.

Prof. Stephen Quadros, Dr. Alwyn D’Sa and Dr. Vincent Alva in their speeches explained about the need and ways to translate Konkani literature into other languages, especially Kannada language. 

 

A number of translators participated in the workshop.
