Udupi: Milagres College, Kallianpur:National Service Scheme (NSS) Annual Special Camp was held on February 10,2025 at Government Higher Primary school Balekudru Hangarkatta.

 

The very objective of NSS, right from its inception is to make the young minds to learn the values like brotherhood through community living said Very Rev. Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Correspondent, Milagres College, Kallianpur. He was speaking after inaugurating the annual special camp of NSS at Government Higher Primary school Balekudru Hangarkatta. If in case our education system doesn’t make someone humane and humble, then we need to search for the missing elements in this mission he added. 

 

The Government Higher Primary school Balekudru Hangarkatta is more than privileged to host the students and teachers from Milagres College said  Mr Shrikanth Savanth, Asst. teacher of the school, assuring all the necessary help and assistance.

 

Mr H Ibrahima, a senior leader of Balekudru community was the chief guest. He advised students to stand out different in a disturbed society with vices that are not of good taste for the society 

Dr Vincent Alva, the Principal shared his experience as an NSS volunteer and called upon students to learn from the life of people, from different trades and different walks of life. This would surely give every student an another direction for life he added. 

 

Sri. Ganesh G, former Headmaster of Chethana High school, Hangarkatta, Mrs Anusuya, member of Irody Panchayath,  Balekudru, Mr Ganesh Nayak and Mrs Shubhalatha, the NSS officers, Mrs Clara Menezes, Ms Prathima and Mr Ravinandan were present. 

 

Mr Pavan and team presented a prayer song. The students put attractive cultural programmes. The inaugural ceremony was preceded by a dashing procession to create awareness in community on the issues like use of tobacco and other related addictions.

 

Ms Raksha Nayak welcomed the gathering and Ms Yashaswi proposed a vote of thanks. Mr Ganesh from second Bcom compered the program.
