BANGALORE, 10 FEBRUARY 2025: The Western Province of the St Charles Borromeo Religious Congregation, Bangalore, in collaboration with Canara Communication Centre, Mangalore, and powered by AI Lumina – AI Learning Platform, organised a transformative one-day workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) titled "Transforming Life and Ministry with AI". This workshop, tailored for representatives from education, social work, and healthcare, targeted administrators and heads of institutions from across India.

Held at the Provincial House of the Sisters of St Charles in St Thomas Town, Bangalore, the event aimed to empower sisters to harness AI technologies to enhance digital communication, streamline administrative processes, and boost overall productivity.

The workshop, integrated into the Annual Meet 2025, brought together 80 administrators, principals, educators, and teachers from St Charles Borromeo institutions nationwide. The sessions explored the transformative potential of AI in revolutionising educational methodologies, healthcare services, social outreach programmes, and the operational efficiency of religious organisations.

Expert-Led Sessions

Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, Google Certified AI Coach, Media Professional, and Director of Canara Communication Centre, Mangalore, alongside Mr Leo Victor Zalki, an Oracle and Google Certified AI Professional and Director of Oxidane Enviro LLP, Mangalore, served as the workshop’s key resource persons.

Fr Fernandes focused on the practical applications of AI in education, demonstrating how technology can enhance teaching and learning experiences. “AI is not here to replace us but to amplify our creativity and efficiency. By embracing AI, professionals can achieve greater productivity,” he stated.

Mr Zalki showcased innovative AI tools adaptable across various sectors, from healthcare to social work. Echoing Fr Fernandes’ sentiment, he remarked, “AI does not kill our creativity; rather, it amplifies and augments our professional life and religious ministry.”

Voices from the Congregation

Harnessing its power can enhance the productivity and service we offer to our communities. We are committed to transforming ourselves by integrating AI into our life and ministry to serve better,” she affirmed.

The event also witnessed the presence of Sr Rita Varghese, Provincial, along with Sr Wilma Rebello, Councillors Sr Pricilla Lobo and Sr Sheela Cruz. Sr Nancy Cutinho, Principal of St Charles Women’s PU College, Bangalore, played a pivotal role in coordinating the event’s logistics.
