Borivili: 51st Brahma Baidarkala Nemotsava of Sri Brahma Baidarkala Garadi

Mumbai, Jan. 25: Om Sri Jagadeeshwari Seva Samiti (R.), comprising the Koti Chennairas, the heroes of Tulunad, here in Devulapada, a suburb of Borivili East in Greater Mumbai, performed its 51st annual Mahapuja at its Sri Brahma Baidarkala temple on Saturday night and celebrated the Brahma Baidarkala and Mayandal (Jogi men) Nemotsava.

 

Under the leadership, blessings and guidance of Seva Samiti founder president Shekhar Indu Salian Katapady, the annual festival was traditionally inaugurated last Friday with religious programs including the installation of the Kalash Pratishtha in the afternoon, the Agela Thambila in the evening, and the darshan of Baidarkala.

 

Here on Saturday morning, Ganahoma, Durga Puja, and anna santarpana were performed. At night, Baidarkala Nema (Kola), Jogi men’s Nemotsava and Mayandalamma’s Nema were held. Raghu K. Kotian performed the daily pujadhis according to the scriptures at the Garadi. Vidwan Sukumar Bhat Baikal performed the pujadhis in his priesthood and distributed the Tirtha Prasad to the gathered devotees. He blessed.

 

Prasad Kalya (Mulund) was the Devipatri, Narsappa K. Marnad and Umesh Suvarna were the mediators, Sukesh Poojary (Balkatta Garadi), Dinesh Poojary (Cherkadi Garadi) were the Baidarkal priests, and Satish Poojary Manibettu Garadi was the Garadi priest. The deity, the valaga team, Garadi servants and the Kola were also present. The annual Nemotsava festival, organized in collaboration with the builders, ended with a bang on Sunday morning.

The program was attended by Bharat Bank Executive Chairman Suryakant J. Suvarna, Directors Bhaskar M. Salyan, Gangadhar J. Poojary, Santosh K. Poojary, Naresh Krishna Poojary, Billavara Association Mumbai Executive Committee Member Mahesh Karkera, Senior Hotelier Mundappa S. Payyade, Social Workers Vikram Chowgule, Kamlesh Shetty, Premnath P. Kotian, Birla Capital CEO Ashok Suvarna, Dhananjaya S. Kotian (Shanti) and many other dignitaries participated. The committee office bearers honored the donors and devotees present with bouquets and prasad.

 

The program was attended by Service Committee President Laxman S. Salyan, Vice President Narsappa K. Marnad, Gov. P. Secretary CA Abhijit G. Shetty, Honorary Treasurer Ashish R. Kotian, Joint Secretary Sadashiva D. Salyan, Joint Treasurer Usha S. Mendon, Active Members of the Committee Advisors Dayanand Poojary Waranga, Karunakar K.Kapu, Vishwanath B.Bangera, Rajith M.Suvarna, former and current office bearers of the Seva Samiti, the Administrative Committee, the Priests, the Youth Vahini and the Women’s Committee and many members were present. As per the annual tradition, devotees participated and offered prayers to Sri Jagadeeshwari and Sri Brahma Baidarkal. He was granted grace.
