Mount Rosary Church, Catholic Sabha, elects New Office bearers – 2025 – 26

Udupi: Annual Elections of Catholic Sabah was held on Sunday, 26th January, 2025, in the MRC Mini Hall at 9.15 am. 

 

Catholic Sabah Mount Rosary Church, always counted among few vibrant and active Units both in the Kallianpur Deanery and Udupi Diocese with 1025 plus life members, which had the credit of giving leadership at all levels, initiating, materialising socially significant projects and hosting various Unit, Deanery and Diocesan level programmes in the parish.

 

After prayers and invoking Almighty Lord’s blessings, President Mr Elias DSouza extended a warm welcome to Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth, Assistant Parish Priest of Mount Rosary Church, all members especially election Officer Mr Pius James DSouza, President Barkur Unit of Catholic Sabha and observer Mr Edgar Fernandes, Former President of CS, St Peters Church Barkur - appointed by the Deanery to conduct and oversee the smooth election process. He also thanked the members and all concerned for their whole hearted support and cooperation to him and his vibrant team for registering one more  successful year in the history of Catholic Sabah in our parish.

 

In his insightful message Rev Fr Nazareth, outlined the essentials of true catholic leadership and appreciated the Unit President Mr Elias DSouza and his companions for their dedicated service in the parish and wished all the very best to the new executive committee going to be elected short while from now.

 

Once President Mr Elias also gave a brief introduction of the Election Officer and Observer and the stage was set free to them for the elections.

Election Officer read out the basic guidelines, the Executive Committee was constituted comprising about 35 plus Members, the responsibilities and procedures explained to the Members present, the following were elected as Office bearers for the forthcoming period – April 2025 to March, 2026

 

The following were declared elected unanimously:

2. Immediate past President Mr. Elias DSouza

3. President Designate Mr. Reuben Rebello

4. Vice President  Mr. Tolbert DSouza

5. General Secretary  Mrs. Margaret DSouza

6. Joint Secretary        Mrs. Pramila DSouza

7. Treasurer             Mrs. Maria Wilma Rego

8. Asst. Treasurer      Mr. Arnold Roche

9. Representative to ‘Amcho Sandhesh’ Mrs. Anitha DSouza

10. Convener Political Affairs  Mr. Peter Lewis

11. Coordinator for Govt. Facilities  Mr. George DSouza

12. Internal Auditor  Mr. Bruno Lewis

 

Other Volunteers –Mr William DSouza / Dancy Machado / Josephine Menezes / Luke DSouza / Jyothy Lewis.

 

In the beginning breakfast was arranged for all and to conclude the meeting Secretary Mrs Maria Wilma Rego proposed vote of thanks to all the Members present, especially Election Officers and past and present Deanery, Diocesan and Central level office bearers and congratulated the newly elected President Mr Archibald Furtado and his team and wished all the very best in their forthcoming tenure.
