Bantwala: "60 years of Deepika High School is a matter of pride for the district. This school campus has all kinds of environment conducive to sports. If you practice continuously in any field, you can achieve something". Olympian Sahana Kumari Nagaraj said that the sports event held here was successful in including all age groups.
She spoke on the occasion of the diamond jubilee of Deepika High School Modankapu by accepting the sports torch of the senior and junior students held at the stadium of Deepika High School, Modankapu. Retired Director of Physical Education Purushottama Pujari hoisted the flag.
Speaking after paying tribute to national level kabaddi player Amarnath Rai, today’s students should focus on sports and education. Mobile usage should be reduced. 40 years ago, the then sports champion Deepika was introduced to high school through Umarabba. He said that even in those days it was a model school in the district by providing good cultured education.
President of Vajramahotsava Sports Committee Shivprasad Shetty said that the school has a large number of senior students who have worked to recognize students at the district, state, national and international levels in the field of education for 60 years. National level volleyball player Suprith Alwa ran the sports torch from Lions Club, BC Road. The Principal of Deepika High School Father Valerian D’Souza inaugurated the ceremony.

Vajramahotsava Committee President Rakesh Malli, Senior Students Association President Rajesh Salyan, School Principal Sadu, Deepika High School Trustee Ashwani Kumar Rai, Amateur Kabaddi Association President Ratan Shetty were present on the stage.
