Milagres College, Kallianpur organise an insightful and Guest Lecture on ‘Career Craft’

Kallianpur, 01 Dec 2023: IQAC Dept of the Milagres College took the initiative to conduct the expert lecture on the ‘Skill enhancement program’ under the banner of the Department of Computer Application on Wednesday, 29th November 2023 at the Audio Visual Hall of the College. The Seminar was conducted on ’Career Craft’ - A skill enhancement program, and Prof. Chiranjan K Sherigar, a well-known trainee, serving as Lecturer in Sri Poorna-prajna Evening College, Udupi was the resource person. The session aimed to equip students with the essential skills required to excel in the ever-evolving job market and also to prepare the students for the competitive exams conducted by the Centre/State governments.

 

The primary objectives of the guest lecture were:

- Highlight the significance of employability skills in today’s job market.

- Provide insights into key skills sought by employers.

- Encourage students to develop and enhance these skills for better career prospects.

Interestingly, the lecture exhaustively covered various facets of employability skills, including:

  - Communication skills

  - Problem-solving abilities

  - Teamwork and collaboration

  - Adaptability and flexibility

  - Professionalism and work ethic

 

 

The guest speaker employed a mix of interactive discussions, real-world examples, and engaging activities - to convey the importance and practical application of these skills.

 

The session witnessed active engagement and involvement from students through lively discussions, queries, and participatory activities facilitated by the speaker.

 

Students exhibited enthusiasm in understanding and applying the concepts shared by the guest speaker and explored strategies to approach and solve complex problems.

 

In the end, gathered positive feedback from students, expressing appreciation for the informative and practical nature of the lecture.

 

The organisers noticed an increased awareness among students about the significance of much needed employability skills.

 

The interaction session on ’Career Craft’ significantly contributed to raising awareness and fostering a deeper understanding of essential skills among students, aligning them with industry requirements and career success.
