Lions Club Centurion organizes Mega Blood Camp; collects 30 units, over 150 benefit from

Mangaluru, 27 Mar 2022: Lions Club Mangalore Centurion in association with Our Lady of Pompeii parish unit of Catholic Sabha, Urwa, the parish youth and health Commission in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, here organized a mega blood and health checkup camp at the parish mini-hall, here on Sunday March 27 from 8.00am to 1.00pm.

 

Urwa parish priest Fr Benjamin was the chief guest of the occasion.

 

Lions Club International (LCI) zonal chairperson Dr Sneha and LCI president coordinator  Govardhan Shetty, municipal local ward corporator Ganesh Kulal  were the guests of honor.

 

The dignitaries collectively inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Govardhan Shetty explained the LCI theme for the year ‘INSPIRE – Share Happiness’ with due emphasis on total wellbeing of individuals that would benefit the society and nation.

 

 

Dr Sneha lauded the efforts of Urwa parish Catholic Sabha and allied associations in joining hands with Lions Club Mangalore Centurion in organizing the mega blood and health checkup camp.

 

Urwa parish Catholic Sabha unit president Cletus Lobo, secretary Kevin Martis, Urwa parish ICYM/YCS animator Neil D’Souza, Urwa parish ICYM unit president Melanie Coutinho, Urwa parish health Commission president Anita D’Souza were also present.

 

Lions Club Mangalore Centurion extension chairperson Lawrence Lobo and president Robert D Costa were present at the registration desk.

 

Urwa assistant parish priest Fr Roshan D’Souza conveyed best wishes for the camp.

 

The comprehensive health checkup included eye checkup, orthopedic, diabetes, skin, common ailments, OBG, free medicine and spectacles for those coming from BPL families.

 

Kevin Martis compered the programme. Anita D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

 

Around 150 individuals have gone through the free health checkup camps for different ailments.

 

Over 25 units of blood was collected by the blood bank staff of Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, here.
