Mangaluru, 18 Jan 2022: Shiradi Ghat section of Mangaluru – Bengaluru NH 75 is a vital lifeline for coastal Karnataka, while conglomerates such as Mangalore Refineries and Fertilizers Limited (MRPL), New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT), Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers (MCF) and other industries that are situated in KIADB at Baikampady, Mangaluru city, said MLC Manjunath Bhandary.
Addressing the media persons at district Congress office, here on Monday, January 17, MLC Bhandary further quoted the news report of dailies that Hassan DC had sought closure of 10 kilometers stretch of NH 75 beginning from Donigal to Maranahalli at Shiradi Ghat to execute 4 lane works for 6 months. It would indeed cause great distress to road users including long hauling trucks, passengers’ vehicles, industries and others in general, added Bhandary.
Bhandary urged the Karnataka state administration to instruct the concerned department to complete the works in a short period by taking the advice of experts, using hi-tech machineries, more labor force and undertaking works in different locations simultaneously, he emphasized.

It was a history that was written in the annals of Karnataka. Likewise, as claimed by union transport minister Nitin Gadkari; India has created world record for fastest road construction during the inaugural of Tedhi Pulia flyover and foundation laying for Khuram Nagar flyover at Lucknow on April 2, 2021; it’s not an impossible task if state administration determined to do so.
