Udupi: Shri Krishna Mutt felicitates Golden Girl Pramila Pinto

Udupi, 13 July 2011: Pramila Joyce Pinto, who is a student at Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre for Mentally Challenged Children, at Pamboor, Udupi, who won Gold and Bronze medals in the recently held Special Olympics for specially-abled children at Athens, Greece, has been felicitated in the Shri Krishna Mutt, organized by Udupi Jilla Nagarika Samithi on Tuesday.
Shree Laxmeevara Theertha Swameeji of Paryaya Shiroor Mutt felicitated Pramila in Vasantha Mantapa of Shri Krishna Mutt, and said that the special children are the special creations of Lord. Even in them God fills the talent, so no one should have inferiority complex on them and they should not worry that they are not getting the support for their talent. It is the duty of the society to take care of them in the front stream, said Shree.

Chief guest of the felicitation program District Youth Service and Sports Department Seethanadi Vittala Shetty spoke on the occasion and announced that from their department he will provide roller skating shoes and the sports equipments to Manasa Centre. Other guests and dignitaries present on the occasion were; Vasantha Shetty – Education Officer from Education Department Brahmavara Zone, Lathvya Acharya – Deevana of Mutt, Nithyananda Volakadu – Secretary of Jilla Nagarika Samithi, Remidiya D’Souza – President of Manasa, Thelma Lewis – Principal of Manasa, Shaini - Physical Education Teacher, Laxminarayana Upadyaya – Coach of Pramila and others.
Before this felicitation program, Pramila Pinto was taken in a open vehicle grand procession along with hundreds of students through the Court Road, Service – City bus stand, Mosque Road and Badagupete, to Shri Krishna Mutt. The procession was organized by Jilla Nagarika Samithi.
