Karkala: Belman parish celebrate Elder’s Day with get-together

Karkala, 09 Aug 2018: Elder’s Day was celebrated at St Joseph’s parish, Belman, near here, on Sunday, August 5. More than 260 elders of their parish above the age of 65 were present for the celebration.
Fr Louis D’Sa, parish priest of Mukamar parish celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass.
After the Mass, a short programme was organised to honour their veterans. Dr Elroy Saldanha a well-known faculty from Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, Mangaluru shared some health tips for the elderly to maintain their health.
Fr Edwin D’Souza, parish priest spoke about the significance of day.
Fr Prakash Menezes, assistant parish priest, members of parish council and nuns were present.
Alwyn Agera, vice president of parish council welcomed the gathering. Faustine D’Souza delivered vote of thanks.
The parishioner Gerald Pinto sponsored the event. Programme was organised by Health Commission and Catholic Sabha of Belman parish. Dominic Andrade compered the programme.
