Mangaluru: Muhurat of Thisri Cheet, Konkani play by Wilfy Rebimbus held in city

Mangaluru, 10 Mar 2017: The Muhurat of ‘Thisri Cheet’, a popular Konkani play by playwright Wilfy Rebimbus, was held here on Monday March 6.
The play will be presented by Konkani Natak Sabha®, (KNS), Mangalore at Don Bosco Hall, here on Sunday, April 23 at 6.00 pm, to mark the 75th birth anniversary of Konkani legendary musician and playwright Wilfy Rebimbus.
Episcopal Vicar for Religious and director of Rishivana, Fr Pius James D’Souza and famous Master of Ceremony Manu Bantwal were the chief guests at the Muhurat programme. The dignitaries lit the lamp and sought divine intervention for the success of the play.
Fr Pius James D’Souza handed over the script to the director Adolphus Cutinha, popularly known as Dolla.
Dolla narrated the theme of the play and distributed the roles to the artistes.
Fr Pius James D’Souza rendered prayer service and wished success to all the artists.
KNS vice-president Sunil Menezes, general secretary Judi D’Souza, treasurer Jerry Concessao, Meena Rebimbus among others were also present.
KNS president Fr Paul Melvyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Judi D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
