Dubai: Leslie Fernandes elected President of Ferarites UAE

Dubai, 24 March 2011: Leslie Fernandes was unanimously elected as president of Ferarties-UAE, for the next two years at a general body meeting held  at Shezan Restaurant, Karama, Dubai, recently.  The main objective of the meeting was to elect the new office bearers for the year 2011-2013.

 

 

Vincent Pereira has been leading the organization since its inception in January2007. Ferarites-UAE has seen tremendous progress under his dynamic leadership as President who was instrumental in fulfilling our objective  “Reaching out and touching lives of less fortunate” and converting an infant association into a matured body during the last 4 years. Ferarties-UAE,  an association of Ferarites living in the UAE is a premier social, cultural and charity organization affiliated  to St. Francis Xavier Church, Ferar,  Mangalore.

 

During the last 4 years, Ferarites UAE, has supported several programmes back home and other parts of India in the field of education, medical and meeting the needs of economically weak people, the most important one is the recent launch of "Ferarites-UAE Education Trust Fund, a Rs 10 lakh fund established at SFX church Ferar to support educational  needs of young students taking up professional courses.

The meeting commenced with a short prayer by Vice President-Norbert Sequeira followed by welcome note by Vincent Pereira.

 

Vincent Pereira together with Norbert Sequiera conducted the election process while the members called on the nominees.

 

A three member advisory body has been set up to oversee the  activities of Ferarites UAE led by the Founder President, Vincent Pereira and supported by founder Vice President Norbert Sequeira and founder member Clara Fernandes.

Outgoing President Vincent Pereira addressed the committee and  thanked all the committee members for all their support.  He lauded support of Ferarites   for standing by the association in carrying out its activities smoothly.  He thanked all the well wishers, benefactors and sponsors for their unstinted finnancial support during the last 4 years which helped Ferarites to fulfill its obligations in the society. He further thanked all the media sponsors for their overwhelming support in reaching out to the people. On behalf of the old committee, Vice President Norbert Sequeira thanked outgoing President Vincent Pereira for leading a lovely “Ferarite family” in the UAE, in a dynamic way.

 

 

New president Leslie Fernandes thanked all the committee for selecting him as the President for the next term.  He requested future support from all the members in fulfilling the main goal of Ferarites-UAE in “Reaching out and touching lives of less fortunate”. Leslie had earlier rendered his services  as Treasurer for the past 4 years.

 

The meeting was concluded with a short prayer by Norbert.
