Knowing and understanding their desire the Principal Sr.Vinny Gonsalves planned and organized an annual  educational tour to three different destinations according to the abilities and interests of the students.

On 7 March 2011, twenty five students, who belong to the higher ability group and five staff members and M.S.W. students from Manipal University went with great enthusiasm to view the important and attractive places in Manipal. One of the important place that they visited was the anatomy museum. The children views the exhibits with great interest and wonder. From there all walked towards to the Venugopal Temple, where the special children bowed their heads with great reverence.

Next, the students assembled in the planetarium. The guide explained everything clearly. After spending half an hour in the planetarium, the students had snacks and cold drinks. At noon, the students came back to Udupi and visited the famous Krishna Temple where they were served lunch. After a brief rest all returned to Manasa.

On Friday, 11 March 2011, fifty students, of lower and higher ability and ten staff members of the school joyfully proceeded in bus  towards Pajaka Kshethra where the birth place of Shri Madhwacharya, the founder of the Ashta Matthas is situated. The temple priest offered cold drink to all the students and staff members.

Thereafter, the group of students and staff members went to Durga Parameshwari Temple at Kunjarugir where they participated in Pooja and received ‘prasadam’. Around the temple there were many monkeys and the special children were very happy and enjoyed watching the monkeys jumping from one branch to the other.

The teachers distributed biscuits and juice to all the children. Around one  o’clock the lunch was provided to all the students by the temple authorities. After the lunch all proceeded to view Moodubelle Church. It was beautiful to see how the special children were praying.  At around 2.30pm all the students and staff members returned to the school with shouts of joy.

On 15 March 2011, twenty six students from the higher ability group and ten staff members and along with the Managing Trustee-Ms. Remedia D´Souza visited Kodayadka Temple. After having ‘darshan’ of Anna Poorneshwari they went around to see the park and the garden. There were many attractive birds and wild animals in the park. The special children admired and watched the animals very closely and expressed their joy and happiness. The temple priest offered lunch to the students and staff.

Thereafter, all visited the Paladka temple. The temple priest was quite happy to meet the special students and  promised to visit Manasa in the coming month. On the way back they visited Pilarkhan Lingeshwara Temple, which is located in the middle of the forest. In this surroundings, the teachers explained to the students the importance of trees and animals. It was really an enjoyable time to be together.

The teachers and the students expressed their gratitude to the principal and the managing trustee for organizing the annual educational tour for them.
