Qatar: HBK Contracting Company celebrates India’s 70th I-Day with staff

Doha/Qatar, 18 Aug 2016: HBK Contracting Company, one of the leading construction Companies in State of Qatar, celebrated India’s 70th Independence Day at one of their project in Qatar on Monday August 15.
The project manager and KMCA president Niyaz Ahmed hoisted the tri-color Indian flag here on Monday August 15 at 7:00am.
Speaking on the occasion, Niyaz emphasized the workers to make sure they have sanitation facilities at back homes, if not he told to make use of Central Government’s Scheme of Swacch Bharat. He appealed the workers to stay away from smoking, drinking and save as much as money for their future. He warned them to avoid illegal transfer of money and told to transfer money only through legal channels. He also told the workers to give proper education to their children, so that they became a good Indian citizen. He also requested that they should be loyal to the employer who has given us shelter in Qatar and work hard for the development of Qatar.
He thanked the Indian Embassy Officials for facilitating this celebration which is first of its kind in Qatar.
This was followed by cake cutting which was done by workers of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian religion to show case the Unity in diversity of India. Snacks were distributed to all the workers.
The senior staff members of HBK Contracting Company also participated in the celebration.
While speaking to media persons, a few workers stated that due to the duty hours and distance they did not participate in the Independence Day in Qatar for several years, because of this arrangement at Project Site, they had a chance to salute the National Flag. They thanked the HBK Management for this celebration.
Around 500 workers participated in the celebration.
