Moodubelle: State level Volleyball Tournament held for the Rahul Trophy-2011

Pernankila, Moodubelle, 02 March 2011: Friends Sports and Cultural Association, Pernankila organized the State level Volleyball Tournament for the Rahul Trophy-2011 on 1st Febraury 2011 at 9.30 pm. Twelve teams participated in this tournament. The inaugural function was presided over by Diwakara Kunder- Udupi Zilla Panchayat member from Udyavara. The tournament was inaugurated by Harish Kini-President of Alevooru Grama Panchayat.
Other guests of honour present for the function were: Lakshminarayan Prabhu-Vice President of Kodibettu Grama Panchayat, Ramesh kanchan-former Udupi taluk Panchayat member, Vasant Shetty-headmaster of Vishnumurthy High School, Kudi and National Best Teacher award winner, Pravin-President of the Friends Sports and Cultural Association, Valerian Quadros-Honorary President of the association who was also felicitated during the programme and Jayaprakash Hegde-former MLA from Brahmavar.

The inaugural function was compeered and welcome address was given by Upendra Acharya of Perdur and Vote of thanks was proposed by Pravin.
The tournament was interesting, which was viewed by many villagers and sports-lovers. Top three teams declared as winners:
First prize of Rs.20001 and trophy was won by DYM team, Nittoor
Second prize of Rs.10001 and trophy was won by Shri Devi team of Kondadi
Third prize of Rs.5001 and trophy was won by Skywing team of Mulky
Individual prizes were bagged by: Gubbi Ravi as best attacker; Prakash for best passing and Avinash for best all-round performance.
