Mangaluru: Ramakrishna Mission carries out 27th weekly cleanliness drive in city

Mangaluru, 22 Nov 2015: Ramakrishna Mission carried out twenty-seventh weekly cleanliness drive as part of 40-week Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan on P M Road, G H Road, near Sharavu Ganapati temple Road here on Sunday November 22 from 7.30am to 10.00am.
Alvas Ayurveda Medical College dean Dr Subramanya Padyana and Ramakrishna Ashram benefactor Ramesh Mallya offered motion for the cleanliness drive here on Sunday at 7.30am in the presence of Ramakrishna mutt chairman Swami Jitakamanada.
MLC Ganesh Karnic formed 4 groups, while the group led by Dr Sumant Shenoy cleaned the road near Sharavu Ganapati temple, the group led by Dr Aditya Bhat cleaned P M Road, the group led by senior volunteers cleaned G H Road.
The signboards of roads were painted afresh, the railings on the road also painted a fresh coat and it was speck-clean within two-and-a-half-hours of voluntary service.
The staff of Alvas Ayurveda Medical College, NSS volunteers actively participated in the cleanliness drive.
Ganapati PU College principal Ratnakar Bannady, Dr Satish Rao, Katyayini Rao, Suresh Shetty, Shubhodaya Alva, Professor Sheshappa Amin, Mahesh K B, advocate Sridar Shetty also partaken in the cleanliness drive.
