Kuwait: KWAK organizes fun-filled picnic at Ahmadi Gardens

Kuwait, 27 Oct 2015: Kanajar Welfare Association Kuwait (KWAK) organized a fun-filled picnic at Ahmadi Gardens, here on Friday October 23.

 

Families started to arrive with great enthusiasm. Kids filled with joy for some family time. It began with the prayer by KWAK secretary Charlotte D’Souza thanking the Almighty for the wonderful day and the weather. Melvyn Mascarenhas took over the event by welcoming the KWAK family.

 

Before begin the games, grabbed a quick breakfast prepared by Deepak Martis with the help of Ignatius Menezes. All energized with joy and excitement as a family began the picnic with dodging the ball. KWAK Committee member Jyoti  Fernandes’s birthday was celebrated by cutting the cake to enhance the joy at the picnic.

 

Games were conducted for children and adults by Edward D’Souza, Melvyn Mascarenhas, Ivy Godwin Rodrigues, Anil Britto and Leena Placid Fernandes.

 

 

The highlight of picnic was time for the barbeque. The men behind the success of delicious barbeque wee Deepak Martis, Robert Cyril Menezes, Anil Britto, Ignatius Menezes and Benedict Saldanha. Grace before meal was held by Edward D’Souza.

 

KWAK’s most loved and founder member Rose Mary and her husband Lancy Mendonca were felicitated on returning to their hometown for good.  Lawrence Saldanha presented a memento to the couple on behalf of KWAK family.

 

Edward D’Souza and Steve Ruben Rodrigues held housie-housie and prizes were distributed to the winners.

 

Edward D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude to the committee members especially Charlotte D’Souza,  Sharol Menezes and Steve Ruben Rodrigues for organizing the event and Melvyn and Shalet Mascarenhas for the photography.

 

Picnic concluded with Leena Placid Fernandes’s surprise game.
