61st Republic day celebrations at St. Lawrence P.U. College

Moodubelle, 26 January 2010: The 61st Republic day was celebrated on Tuesday 26th January at St. Lawrence P.U. College, Moodubelle. The flag hoisting ceremony was ceremoniously done by Fr. Paul Sequeira, The principal of St. Lawrence P.U. College, Moodubelle. After the flag hoisting ceremony the stage function was held at the college auditorium. After the prayer song the guests and others were welcomed by Ms. Jovita Mendonca. Which was followed by the speech by Ms. Jane. In her speech she highlighted the important features of this great celebrations. In response to this the students sang the patriotic song where they sang the greatness of our country being a democratic one.
On behalf of the staff Mr. Srinivas Ballal, High School Teacher gave the speech. In his speech he described the various situations why the constitution had come and the effect of the constitution on the nation, on the people and the development of the country. It is the soul of the democratic setup of our country. He called the students to be aware of this great truth of the democratic setup of our country. We are not only Praje (citizens) but also Prabhu (having authority). He stressed the need for the students to have discipline, concentration and proper goals which is a success ladder in their examination and in their life.
The principal commended the two speakers and called the students to become the resourceful citizens of our country by having love and dedications towards our country. In his speech he brought to the notice to the students The Padmashri Award awarded to Dr. B.M. Hegde. (Belle Monappa Hegde). While congratulating Dr. B.M. Hegde for his great achievement and for having received this prestigious award he called the students to take him as a model and as an inspiration. He was born and brought up in belle and he could rise to such an extent.
So the students who are of belle also should rise high in their education and in their life. He called on the students to study hard for the examinations and give hundred percent result as their contribution towards the golden jubilee. He thanked the Keerthi Squad for arranging this celebration. The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Aparana and the program was compared by Ms Karishma. After the program students were given refreshments. The teachers separately enjoyed the refreshments.
