Dubai: Mudarangadi Parishioners holds family picnic

Dubai, 12 December 2010: It was an exciting day for the St Francis Xavier Association, Mudarangady Parishioners (SFX KUTAM) living in the UAE. A fun day family picnic was held at Safa Park Dubai with around 80 members happily gathering in this blissful day picnic. The picnic was organized by the association with the aim of providing an opportunity for members to know each other a little better, have fun and to renew the commitment to build harmony and peaceful community.

 

The event started with a prayer conducted by Leena Dsouza followed by warm welcome by President Canute Mathias. All attendees, men, women, youth and children from all walks of life participated in various games. There were many games and activities to all the age-groups. Participants were divided into two teams --Mudarangadi Royal Challengers and Vidyanagara Super Kings.  Successful first anniversary of the website www.sfxkutam.com was also celebrated with cutting of the cake by web committee members along with all members of the association.

 

The lucky coupon draw was also conducted and first prize was won by Thomas Saldanha of Kanajar, second prize was won by Dylon of Dubai and third prize was won by Oliver of Jumeira.

 

 

A number of warm up games were conducted by Anil Prakash and Leslie. Both of them conducted the activities systematically and in a very professional way with a good preparation and in a well organized plan.

 

Women and children also enjoyed perfect attention with the team games. Tug-of-war for men and women left the participant energized, as they continued applauding and supporting the participating teams. Among the two teams Mudarangadi Royal Challengers bagged the first prize and rose victoriously as the champions while the Vidyanagara Super Kings came second.

 

Santa Claus visit was very special to the gathering and gifts were received by all the children. This special appearance by Leslie Dsouza brought a wonderful and good feeling of Christmas among the attendees.

 

Delicious food and snacks were served and all participants had a wonderful time in the pleasant weather of Dubai at the backdrops of Burj Khalifa at the magnificent SAFA PARK and made their day remarkable and memorable. Vice President James Mathias concluded the picnic with vote of thanks.
