Mangaluru: ICYM - Kulshekar parish unit organizes blood camp

Mangaluru, 23 Nov 2014: In this IT era there is explosion of knowledge, while the people should be increasingly sensitized to voluntarily donate their blood to save lives, said Udupi district information officer Rohini.
Rohini was speaking after inaugurating blood camp that was organized by Holy Cross parish, Kulshekar in association with ICYM – Kulshekar parish unit and district unit of Indian Red Cross Society at Frad Saib Hall, here on Sunday November 23.
‘Charity has great significance in our culture, while blood donation the noble deed indeed. Healthy society can be formed with charity in thoughts by the people. The youth organizations can contribute immensely in this regard, said Rohini.
Kulshekar parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto in his presidential address recalled how he was saved during his major illness because of the donors’ blood. The blood has not distinction of caste, creed and faith, color. Its also gives spiritual bliss, said Fr Pinto.
The district unit of Indian Red Cross Society president Prabhakar Sriyan explained the significance of blood donation.
Blood Bank president Ronald Anil Fernandes explained the objectives of Indian Red Cross Society.
Kulshekar parish ICYM unit animator Susheel Noronha, president Jitesh Lasrado, Kulshekar parish council secretary Michael D’Souza, assistant parish priests Fr Vishal Monis and Fr Anil Lobo and M P Noronha were present.
Kulshekar parish ICYM unit secretary Ancita D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Seema D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Manisha Crasta compered the programme.
