Rape Row, MLC Ivan DSouza apologizes to Eashwarappa

Mangaluru, 08 Nov 2014: MLC Ivan D’Souza who had sparked the a row while retaliating former DCM Eshwarapa’s statements about Chief minister Siddaramiah and home minister K J George apologized to Eshwarappa and his family, the people of Karnataka and has stated that they were the words of outrage.

 

 

Addressing media persons here on Saturday November 8, MLC Ivan said, ‘I apologize to Eshwarrappa, his family and the people of our state for making this comments. My statement has crossed the boundaries of retaliation. I have made a mistake by making that statement. If it is me or Eshwarappa or any one for that matter giving such statements when the sexual assault over women is concerned is wrong.

 

We should respect women. We should respect the women irrespective of the political party. All the politicians including me have to uphold the respect of politics and the politicians,’ said MLC Ivan.

 

When asked if the KPCC president Parameshwar and the CM Siddharamiah has spoken to him over this, MLC Ivan said that both of them have spoken to him over the phone and have said that that comments are wrong.

 

MLC Ivan had sparked a new row stating How Eashwarappa would feel if his spouse would be raped and this had attracted state-wide outrage.
