All Kerala Women’s Colleges Alumni(AKWCA) celebrated Onam-Eid

Abu Dhabi, Oct 27, 2014: All Kerala Women’s Colleges Alumni(AKWCA) celebrated Onam-Eid at ISC on 24.10.2014, with traditional cultural programs & Onassadya.

 

Chief Guest Mrs. Neeta Bhooshan, DCM, Indian Embassy UAE  inaugurated the program with ISC President Mr.Natarajan and ISC General Secretary Mr. Vinod & other association officials.

 

 

AKWCA Secretay Sheela B Menon, Welcomed the gathering. AKWCA President Helen Nelson on her presidential speech wished everybody Onam wishes.  Vote of thanks delivered by Molly Boban. Varies  types of traditional  cultural  programs  was conducted by Art Secretary Shyla Samad.

 

The primary objective of the Alumni is to support the society through charity services and has been taking humanitarian service in Kerala last 17 years. 

 

Some of their activities:

 

Arranged mass wedding for poor girls (so far 28 marriage), supplied 250 sewing machines & financial help to widows to earn their livelihood through self employment. Provided  financial aid to orphanages, cancer patients & kidney patients. providing education support for brilliant(poor) students, arranged free eye examination campaign(free medical check up,/ medicine/,eyeglasses)

 

55wheel chairs distributed to the needy people, they had distributed 100 dialysis kit for kidney patients. They  gave financial support to 30 families who are not having proper shelter (to modify the huts of families who have matured girls.)

 

2014 -15 their  project is to distribute dialysis kit covering 14 districts of kerala.
