Udupi: Public felicitation held for National-level Volley ball winners in Santhekatte

Udupi, Oct 25, 2014: The students who represented the District in the Karnataka team and have won second place at the national level ’Under 14 Category’ Boys Group Volleyball match held at Penugonda, Andhra Pradesh were honoured at the Veerabhadra Auditorium Santhekatte in grand ceremony.
The Karnataka State Volleyball team lost to Uttar Pradesh by 25-21, 25-20, 25-18. They had entered the finals by defeating Goa, Tamil Nadu, Manipur and Uttarkhand.
A rally has was oragnised from Ashirvad Junction and ended at Veerabhadra Auditorium.
The five players from Mount Rosary English Medium School who were the part of national team were Dasharath, Auston Barboza, Anubhav, Glen D’Souza and Manoj were part of the Karnataka team.
Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA Udupi, inaugurated the programme. Raghupati Bhat, former MLA, felicitated the student. Fr Philip Neri Aranha presided over the programmed.
