Krishnaprasad Adyanthaya, managing trustee of Sri Mookambika Temple, told The Hindu that Mr. Rajinikanth came to the temple at around 11.30 a.m. He had come from Sagar in Shimoga district, where he was shooting for his multilingual film ‘Linga’.
Short visit
He left after offering his prayers and was at the temple only for about 15 minutes. He recalled his visit to the temple about 22 years ago.
“He told me that there was a break in the shooting schedule. Hence, he decided to come here and offer prayers. We were unaware of his visit and were caught by surprise,” Mr. Adyanthaya said.
The devotees who had come to the temple surrounded him, but being a Monday, there was not much rush at the temple, Mr. Adyanthaya said.
Mr. Rajinikanth arrived in Mangalore by air and then left for Tirthahalli in Shimoga district by road on August 14 to shoot for the film.
