Chicago: Dr Austin DSouza Prabhu receives LCIF Recognition

Chicago / USA, 10 Aug 2014: On his birthday, Dr Austin D’Souza Prabhu, District Governor of Mother District of Lionism twice, received thirty-fifth level Melvin Jones Fellow recognition from Lions Clubs International Foundation chairman, International past pesident Barry Palmer from Australia at the Lions Clubs International Headquarters here on Friday August 8. Dr Austin is the first to receive such an honor.
Current International president Joe Preston from USA wrote the following regarding this recognition on his facebook page: ‘LCIF Chair Barry Palmer and I presenting an advanced LCIF pin to PDG Austin D’Souza Prabhu on Austin’s birthday. What a great way to celebrate, by making another major contribution to our Foundation, LCIF.’
Same day, Dr Austin Prabhu, member of US President’s Volunteer Service Awards Commission awarded US President Barack Obama’s Life Time Volunteer Service Awards to president Joe Preston and his wife Joni Preston.
After receiving this prestigious award, president Joe Preston said that: ‘PDG D’Souza presented Joni and I our Volunteer Service Award, from President Obama. We are very honored but the true reward for volunteering is the warm fuzzy feeling, knowing you are making a difference. Being a Lion provides the perfect platform for serving others.’
