Puttur: St Philomena College organizes discussion on Union Budget

Puttur, 8 Aug 2014: The department of business management of St Philomena College here organized a discussion on Union Budget – 2014 at their auditorium here on Thursday August 7.
The first year BBM students analysed the structure of the Budget - 2014, second year BBM students discussed on the inflow of the money, the sources of the money were thoroughly debated, while third year BBM fiercely argued on the expenditure of the budget.
The College principal Professor Leo Norohna presided the programme.
The session was moderated by Professor Ganapati Bhat, lecturer of department of economics.
Speaking about the budget Professor Ganapati said, ‘Government has to plan its income and expenditure, this planning is called Budget.’ He further said that the Union Budget 2014 has covered all the important areas like agriculture, industry, education, women and child development. Therefore, it seems like a good budget and will trigger development.
The third year BBM student Mohammed Faizal welcomed the gathering. The first year BBM student Sana Mubarak proposed vote of thanks. Shiksha Shetty compered the programme.
