St Philomena College convenes general body meeting of PTA

Puttur, 14 Sep 2014: The general body meeting of parent teachers association (PTA) of St Philomena College, here was held at their silver jubilee memorial hall on Wednesday September 10.
Mangalore – St Joseph inter-diocesan seminary Professor Fr Clifford Fernandes, addressing the parents on the role of parents in the all round development of students, said, ‘It is responsibility of the teachers and parents to inculcate with their children patience and human values.’ He called upon the parents to raise above the caste, creed and religion and live in the society with togetherness.
The College campus director and PG studies chairman Fr Antony Praksah Monteiro said, ‘There is lot of development in technical education. If students make use of these developments they can fulfill the dreams of their parents.’
The College correspondent Fr Alfred J Pinto said, ‘The education and the values gained by the students in the college should be imbibed in their future.’
The College principal Professor Leo Noronha also spoke on the occasion.
PTA president Mohammad Badagannur gave an over view of the achievements in the field of education.
PTA secretary Dr Vijay Kumar Moleyar read out the annual report. The treasurer presented the annual account. The commerce and management department head Professor Maxim Karl conducted the election for PTA for 2014-15.
Dr Prassanna Rai presented the prayer song. PTA joint secretary Professor Vinayachandra proposed the vote of thanks. Kannada Professor Bastian Pais compered the programme. Professor Udaya K interacted with parents – students - teachers on the occasion.
An exhibition of books was put up by the College department of library, in association with Jnanaganga Book Depot.
