There should be a permanent solution for the sea erosion around 320 km of Coastal Karnataka

Udupi, 03 July 2023: There should be a permanent solution for the sea erosion around 320 km of Coastal Karnataka. The earlier government only talks about the permanent solution for the sea erosion, but our government will do the permanent solution in different stages, said Fisheries and Port Minister Mankal Vaidya.
After visiting the sea erosion places of Hangakatte, Sasthan and Muloor of Kaup, the minister said to the media that the MLAs, Ministers of the past government only spoke on the permanent solution of the sea erosion. But, the Congress government surely established a permanent solution to the problem facing the specially fishermen. I am a fisherman and I know the problems and difficulties of fishermen. The situation at Muloor sea side is completely not well. It is the responsibility of the local government to retain the land and properties of the fishermen. I will put pressure on the government and I am ready to solve the problems of sea erosion, the minister said.
The minister said that due to irresponsibility of the previous government the payment for the contractors’ not paid. There should be pending bills for the constructors at the earliest. Our government looks into the matter and will pay them at the earliest.
Along with the minister at Sasthan, Dr. G Shahkar, Backward Communities Nigam chairman Jayaprakash Hegde and Fisheries department officials, at the Muloor, Kaup former minister Vinaykumar Sorake, Deputy Collector Kurma Rao IAS, Tasildhar Srinivas Murthy, Fisheries and Port Department official Capt. Swami, Anjana Devi, Jayaraj, Kaup Block Congress President Naveenchandra Suvarna, Kaup Town Council members, Congress leaders and others were present.
