Bellary court issues 9th non-bailable warrant against Janardhana Reddy

Bellary, 26 August 2010: A local court today issued a fresh non-bailable warrant against state Tourism Minister and mining magnate G Janardhana Reddy for alleged destroying of boundary marks on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh borders for illegal mining. 

 
Reddy, facing allegations of illegal mining, has not responded to earlier eight NBWs ever since the first one was issued by the Sandur Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court in December last.

JMFC Magistrate of Kudligi D G Pramod, also in-charge of Sandur JMFC, issued the warrant returnable by September 25.Tappal Narayana Reddy, a rival mine owner in 2006, had filed a complaint against Reddy and some others accusing them of destroying the boundary marks at Vitlapura, Tumti on the Karnataka border and at Malapuragudi bordering Andhra Pradesh.

Police had registered a case against Reddy on the basis of the complaint.
