Udupi, 18 August 2010: The ‘Bhadrakali’ mechanised boat which went missing from Malpe is yet to be traced. No information was available on the fishermen on the board as well.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Coastal Security Police Prakash said “we do not have any information on the boat. The Coastal Security Police and the Coast Guard are searching for the boat.” “We had gone nearly 10 nauticals into the deep sea in search of the missing boat on Tuesday. Owing to the inclement weather, we are finding it difficult for the movement of boat. Even the mobilephone of the fishermen are switched off.”

In the meantime, fishermen have been asked not to venture into deep sea fishing with the strong wind lashing the shore in the next 48 hours. Heavy to very heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka when the rainfall shall exceed 125 mm in the next 48 hours, warned a press release from matereological department.
