Person held for smuggling two-headed snake

Koppa, 08 June 2010: A person smuggling two-headed snake has been arrested by Koppa police and the reptile has been rescued.
The arrested person is Thimma Bovi, who was taking the two headed snake to sell it to his client from Hubli. While the deal was to take place at Koppa bus stand, police nabbed Thimma Bovi at the stand but the client escaped.
Thimma Bovi is a farm worker at Sringeri. The belief that two-headed snake brings good luck and since the venom of the snake is expensive there is great demand for this species of snake. The smuggled snake will be handed over to forest officials, said Koppa Inspector Mahesh. However as of now huge crowd is pouring at Koppa police station to have a look at the snake.
