Kundapur: ‘Spardha Utsava’ at Bhandarkar’s College

Kundapur, 14 Feb 2013: As part of the Golden Jubilee celebration, the Commerce and Management Department organized Udupi District intercollegiate ‘Spardha Utsava’ on February 11, 2013. Colleges affiliated to the Academy of General Education, Manipal and other colleges participated in the Utsava. Mr. Vilas Nayak, Managing Director of Hanuman Group of Enterprises inaugurated the Spardha Utsava.
Speaking at this occasion, Mr. Vilas Nayak said that out of 68 percent of the graduates above the age of 30, around 50 percent leave their native villages and go away to cities in search of employment. This is not good in view of the development of the district. Those graduates should return to their native places and try to develop the rural regions. The knowledge acquired by the youth should be utilized for the progress of the villages and the district.
The principal of the college Chandrashekhara Dhoma presided over the programme. Prof. Shantaram, head of the department of Commerce and Management gave introductory remarks; Raventa Natasha compeered the programme and Rajani Babu proposed the vote of thanks. Students from 10 colleges participated in the ‘Spardha Utsava’.
