Manipal University students, employees feted

Manipal, 28 Jan 2013: One hundred and fifty employees who have completed 25 years of blemish less service in the different institutions of Manipal University were feted at the annual Felicitation and Awards function held at Valley View on Saturday. “We recognize the contribution you have made for the steady development of the various sections of the university and its constituent units, both academic and non-academic,” said the Chancellor, Dr Ramdas M Pai while addressing the gathering on the occasion.

“Expression of gratitude and appreciation is a great human virtue and it is this human aspect that has enabled the University management to honor such employees and awardees,” Dr Pai added. Along with the employees, 58 students, availing the University’s scholarship, were also felicitated. For the first time, Innovation Awards carrying cash and certificates were given to 14 students and institutions. Also, beginning this year, the University has introduced cash awards for staff excelling at state, national and international events. There were 15 recipients in this category.
The Kadambi scholarship and the Kunadapur Mohan and Lata Bhandarkar merit-cum-means scholarships were also presented. Best Posters, in health sciences and technical, were also awarded. Pro Chancellor, Dr H. S. Ballal gave a brief on each of the awards and presentations and also congratulated the employees and scholars for the distinctions they have earned. The Vice Chancellor, Dr K Ramnarayan welcomed the gathering and the Registrar, Dr G.K. Prabhu gave the vote of thanks.
