Kundapur: Teachers and guardians should encourage literary talents - Upendra Somayaji

Kundapura,20 August 2012: “Interest in literature should not be restricted to one’s studies but should be a life-long experience. Teachers and guardians should encourage literary talents and help them to grow. Literary Council creates a very friendly atmosphere in this direction,” said Udupi Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Professor U. Upendra Somayaji.

 

 

He was speaking during a program organized by the Sahitya Parishat at Nedoor  Rajathadri Sri Vani High School to commemorate the 50th event of the “Shaleatha Sahitya” (Literature at School) held on the occasion of the Indian Independence Day celebrations. Earlier he also unfurled the national flag.
Kundapura Taluk Sahitya Parishat secretary K. G. Vaidya inaugurated the event and wished well. The students, who enthusiastically participated in this event, read out self composed poetry and other literary pieces.

 

There were also dance, group singing and magic shows by the students. Shri Vani High School Literary Association president and student of the 10th standard Raghavendra presided over the function. School Head Master Shrideva Kalkura, School pupil leader Sanketh, Shrivani Educational Development president Bhoja Hegde, Sahitya Parishat Kota Hobballi president Sudarshan Shetty, parishat treasurer and school teacher Neelavara Prabhakara, Sahitya Sangha secretary Priyanka and also the school staff were present.

 

Kiran welcomed the gathering and compeered. Secretary Priyanka proposed the vote of thanks.
