Mangalore: Woman found murdered, man hanging in Bajal

Mangalore, 18 May 2010: Woman was found murdered and a man found hanging at a house in Bajal on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Shanthi (46) of Pragathinagara and Mohandas (46) of J M Road in Bajal.
It was said that Mohandas was working in a workshop in Maroli and was also taking up the contract of drainage works. Shanthi was a housewife and her husband was an autorickshaw driver. The incident must have taken place around 11.30 am.
It was said that Shanthi was stabbed to death in her house. While Mohandas was found hanging in the house of Shanthi.
It is suspected that the duo were having an affair and Mohandas must have murdered Shanthi. Nobody was at home when the incident took place.
The incident came to light when Shanthi’s daughter came home after writing the examination. Mangalore Commissionerate Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh visited the spot.
A case has been registered.
Accident
Mohan Malekudiya (45), who got married on Sunday, was killed when the jeep he was travelling in collided with a lorry in Sullia.
He was returning to Jalasooru village in Sullia, along with 12 others including his wife, from Belthangady when the accident took place.
The collision, which occurred at Anegundi Cross in Sullia, also killed four others, who have been identified as Bommanna (55), Narayana (40), Parameshwari (50) and Annu (60).
Injured
Eight persons, including the wife of Malekudiya, have been injured and are being treated at K.V.G. Hospital in Sullia, A.J. Hospital and Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore. A case has been registered and inveastigations are on.
